Church Leaders to bless trucks carrying aid to Zimbabwe

The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) will escort trucks carrying four and a half thousand good quality blankets provided by the Anglican Church, as well as 37 tons of maize, beans and oil donated by other churches, to Zimbabweans displaced by Operation Murambatsvina ('Drive Out Trash') today Monday 1st August.

New Archbishop of Burundi Elected

The Rt. Rev. Bernard Ntahoturi, Bishop of Matana diocese, was elected as the 3rd Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Burundi on the 2nd June, 2005. The enthronement is planned to take place on 17th July 2005 when the Archbishop of Canterbury will be visiting Burundi.
