Archbishop George Carey will visit the Province of Brazil and the Province of the Southern Cone (Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay), from May 12 - 27, 1999. Likely themes to be addressed include the environment and human rights, especially with regard to the poor and vulnerable, the street children and those deprived of the land.

Missionmobilizers Digest

This morning, Steve Hinds, one of our paritioners at Christ Church, Denver began his 2-day journey to Honduras with his 1942 twin-engine Beech filled with medical and other supplies for the relief effort. He will be there for two weeks flying missions into cut-off locations under the direction of the Honduran military authorities. Among his cargo are several large boxes of seed packets that will be delivered directly to Bishop Frade for distribution.

Items for donation for relief

Sweaters and winter apparel are definitely OK. Temperatures that may seem shirt-sleeve weather to you cold-blooded types can seem unbearably cold to us in the tropics. When I was growing up, I spent all of my summers on the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia. Like everyone there, I complained if the temperature rose above 75 Farenheit, that it was getting too hot. Now that I have lived in the tropics for 13 years, like everyone else here on the coast
