The Most Revd Frank T Griswold, Primate of the Episcopal Church, USA, will join the Spiritual Leader of the Anglican Communion, the Most Revd George L Carey, Archbishop of Canterbury, this Sunday at the church that became a centre of care and support following the September 11 tragedy.

The church, a chapel of Historic Trinity Episcopal Church, Wall Street, was and still is a 'beacon of hope' to the financial district.

The Revd Dr Dan Matthews, Rector of Trinity Church, will join the prelates with other clergy and volunteers, for the visit on February 3 mid-morning. At 11:15am the USA Primate will be principal celebrant at a Solemn Eucharist at which the Archbishop of Canterbury will preach in Trinity Church. The church's office building just re-opened this week as it is in the 'red zone'.

Anglicans in Canterbury, England (the Archbishop's Diocese), raised funds in Advent to present to the people of St Nicholas Church, that was destroyed as the World Trade Center (WTC) fell.

The Episcopal Church continues to be a major player in ministering to the people in the area of the WTC. The Seaman's Church Institute and people from the Diocese of New York and the National Church, including Bishop George Packard, play a key role in the work being carried out in New York since 11 September.
