Morehouse Publishing is to launch a series of biblical studies with the help of the Louisville Institute, a program of the Religion Division of the Lilly Endowment Inc. The institute, through the Louisville Seminary, will convene a gathering of Anglican Biblical Scholars and Episcopal clergy in May to shape the new series, said a press release from the publisher.
Frederick W Schmidt, the series editor, said in the release that the book series was an effort by the scholars to meet the needs of congregations in the Episcopal Church USA and throughout the Anglican Communion.
"The association has been looking for new ways to contribute to the life of the Church," Schmidt said. "This series will provide an important opportunity to accomplish that task. The 'Conversation Series' - as it is called - is designed to engage its readers in a dialogue with scripture."
