Church of Nigeria elects four bishops

The Episcopal Synod of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), which was held in St. Matthias' Church Wuse, Abuja, on Wednesday, 2 June, 2004, has elected four Clergymen to the vacant sees in the Church. They are:

  • The Venerable Kelechi Eze, formerly Director Mission and Evangelism in the Primate's Office Abuja, as Bishop of Ukwa
  • The Rt Revd Caleb Maduoma, formerly of Okigwe South, as the Bishop of Ideato (on translation)
  • The Venerable Clement Ekpeye, formerly of Holy Trinity Church Nonwa, as the Bishop of the newly-created Diocese of Ahoada
  • The Venerable Isaac Olubowale, formerly of St. James' Church Suleja, as the Bishop of the newly-created Diocese of Ekiti-Oke.

Their consecration is fixed for St James' Day, 25 July, 2004 at the Cathedral Church of the Advent Gwarinpa, Abuja.
