1500km to go: Cyclists on a mission blaze through town

[The Chronicle by Genevieve Kennedy] With legs of jelly, a team of cyclists pedalled into Toowoomba this afternoon.

But despite burning muscles, the Smashing Cycles of Poverty team said they were happy to know their ride was helping an impoverished Indian district.

The Anglican Aid team are riding from Sydney to Brisbane in an attempt to raise $1 million, which will build houses for the Indian district of Andhra Pradesh, which was badly damaged in floods in 2012.

Anglican Aid chief executive David Mansfield said the regional ride had challenged the team.
