The Bible Society in Hong Kong has launched its latest smartphone app I Love the Bible to promote reading the Scriptures.

The launch was part of its 63rd anniversary celebrations cum thanksgiving service held at the China Congreational Church, Church of Christ in China.

The I Love the Bible app is the Society's first Bible reading application which features reflective questions. It not only prompts Christians to reflect on the scriptures after reading, but also encourages them to write down their thoughts, save and share them with others and apply in real life.

Other functions include the Bible Reading Planner, Scripture Notes and an Online Quiz.  The app turns Bible reading into a daily habit and helps people understand the Holy Word of God from the Revised Chinese Union version of the Bible.

Through the Scripture Notes function, users gain better understanding of the circumstances and social background behind the verses. They become more engaged as they broaden their knowledge of each book. Users may also connect with friends through the Group Sharing function to pray, to share, to encourage each other and to enjoy reading the bible together.

The I Love the Bible app is now available for downloading from Google Play and the Apple’s App Store. Just search for I Love the Bible (or我愛聖經 in Chinese), or scan the QRCode on the Hong Kong Bible Society website (http://www.hkbs.org.hk/tw/content/63-i-love-the-bible-app) to start downloading.

The service/launch was an ecumenical affair with representatives from the Hong Kong Chinese Christian Churches Union, the Baptist Convention of Hong Kong, the Methodist Church, the Hong Kong Council of the Church of Christ in China, Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary, North Point Alliance Church, and Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui—all of whom officiated at the launch ceremony.
