The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) is seeking the services of an experienced person to take up the leading role of Executive Director in their social wing, the Anglican Development Services (ADS).

ACK’s Communications and Documentations Officer Joyce Mwangi told ACNS in an interview yesterday: “The role is key as the director will coordinate the national social transformation work of the Anglican Church of Kenya.”

She added: “The director needs to be abreast with emerging global development trends and informs the church in order to strategize on relevant and timely responses.”

The Executive Director is expected to provide overall leadership to the social development ministry of the Anglican Church of Kenya in ensuring it fulfills the mission of the Church.

Aged between 30 and 50 years, the incumbent will be engaged on a 5-year renewable contract and will report operationally to the Provincial Secretary. She/he is also responsible to the Archbishop and the Anglican Development Services-Kenya Board.

The successful candidate will be an active Christian and preferably an Anglican. She/he will have a minimum of a Masters’ Degree with at least one of the degrees being in social sciences or community development coupled with broad leadership and management training experience.

The Anglican Development Services (ADS-Kenya) is charged with the church's various developmental issues and aims to building lasting partnerships within communities while helping them exercise their “God-given potentials in addressing their needs.”

ADS-Kenya helps develop communities through advocacy, disaster management and mitigation as well as addressing gender, health and HIV/AIDS among many others.
