The Anglican Communion Office (ACO) is advertising for the post of Director for Communications following the departure of Jan Butter in March 2015.
The successful candidate's primary responsibility will be to give strategic direction and vision for the communications work of the Communion.
He/she will oversee the Communion’s various communication channels, including its websites, social media presence, and multimedia and print productions, and will act as press and media officer for the Communion.
Interim Secretary General of the Anglican Communion Canon Alyson Barnett-Cowan said of this role: "Communicating well is essential to the life of the Communion. This challenging role of Director for Communications will see the successful candidate working with Anglican communicators around the world using a multiplicity of media to enhance our ability to live in communion more deeply and creatively."

The Anglican Communion Office, based at St Andrew’s House, London is the permanent Secretariat for the Instruments of Communion of the worldwide Anglican Communion. We are seeking a Director for Communications to give strategic direction and vision for the communications work of the Communion.
The successful candidate will:
- Coordinate communication delivered through websites, social media, multimedia and print production;
- Act as press and media officer for the Communion;
- Have significant experience in the field of communications, including crisis communications management and the development of appropriate strategies for a variety of situations;
- Have experience of working collaboratively as part of a team, and of managing staff and finances;
- Have experience of website content management and development;
- Have extensive experience of working globally and cross-culturally.
- Have excellent writing and personal communications skills in English, and preferably in other languages;
- Be familiar with digital and IT technology, and be able to utilize it creatively in strategic external and internal communications;
- Be prepared to demonstrate an understanding of the life and work of the Anglican Communion (though it is not required that they be Anglican).
- Be prepared and able to travel extensively throughout the Anglican Communion and elsewhere;

The secretariat is located in Westbourne Park, London W11. This senior position will be remunerated according to NCI salary scales currently £47,587 to £52,868 per annum; reasonable relocation expenses may be paid.
