The Secretary General of the Anglican Communion, the Rt Revd Anthony Poggo, will greet the First Lady of Nigeria, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, at Lambeth Palace this week.
The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the First Lady will be in the United Kingdom on a State Visit, as guests of Their Majesties The King and Queen from Wednesday 18 March to Thursday 19 March.
The Secretary General will greet Mrs Tinubu at Lambeth Palace on Thursday, where she will visit the Chapel for a short Service of Prayer before being invited to preach. The Secretary General will also host the First Lady at a Reception at Lambeth Palace with representatives from the Anglican Communion Office, the Church of England and faith charities including Christian Aid and Mothers’ Union.
During the reception, the Secretary General will also represent how the Anglican Communion Office supports Anglican Member churches around the world and also functions in advocacy on a range of human rights issues.
