The history of women's ordination in the global church is being addressed at a three-day conference held at the University of Manchester in England July 12-14 under the theme" Women and Ordination in the Christian Churches: International Perspectives."

To mark the first anniversary of the bombings of 7th July 2005, prayers will be said at the General Synod and in churches across England. The anniversary will be referred to in the opening prayers of the General Synod at York University, led by the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, and will also be reflected in the intercessions at evening prayer that night.
