Two versions of the Lord's Prayer will appear in the Church of England's new service books - Common Worship -, the new modern version and the modified traditional version. Millennium Youth Event

(CT/ACNS) Plans are well underway for a national Christian youth festival in London organised by the Archbishop of Canterbury's youth team. The event will happen in May 1999 and is entitled - The Time of Our Lives. It is hoped that 5,000 young Anglicans from all the dioceses of the Church will take part in a weekend of music, comedy, clubbing and cabaret and worship. Bishops have been encouraged to send 100 young people from each of their dioceses to the even. The climax of the event will be a Eucharist celebrated by the Archbishop in the Wembley Arena.

A Response of the House of Bishops of the Church of England to Ut Unum Sint

Relations between the Church of England and the Roman Catholic Church have taken a further step with the publication of a Response by the House of Bishops to the Pope's 1995 Encyclical on Christian unity Ut Unum Sint. In the Encyclical, the Pope invited 'church leaders and their theologians' to engage with him 'in a patient and fraternal dialogue' on the ministry of unity which belongs to the Bishop of Rome.
