Two weeks away from the family feels like a very long time - however lovely the scenery, however friendly the locals. Something absurd happens, someone says something odd or amusing; and I think, 'I must tell my wife, she'd love that.' I look at advertisements in a local paper and think, 'The children would enjoy that.'

Plans for the 2001 meeting of the Primates of the Anglican Communion are in the final stages. The Archbishop of Canterbury envisions the annual meetings of the primates as a time of mutual support and spiritual refreshment for those called to lead the provinces of the Anglican Communion.
