The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby is visiting Burundi to show solidarity with local Anglicans and to pray for peace and reconciliation. His visit comes hot on the heels of a solidarity visit by a delegation from the WCC, including Dr Agnes Abuom, the moderator of the WCC Central Committee and a member of the Anglican Church of Kenya.

There is a need for “urgent action to strengthen coordination and cooperation in Europe's response to the refugee and migrant crisis,” a high level conference of governments, UN agencies, churches and civil society organisations heard this week. The conference was organised by the WCC and focused on ways to strengthen coordinated responses to the crisis.
