(Provincial Newsletter) Kukki is the Korean word for self-denial offering. This year the Lent offerings monies raised throughout the Anglican Church in Korea will be used for the building of a shelter mission. The shelter will provide job information, counselling, meal services, an introduction to the Christian faith as well as a resting place for jobless people. Last year's offerings were used for emergency aid for starving children in North Korea.

In February this year three Christian villages in Pakistan were attacked and thousands of buildings and homes were destroyed by Muslims from neighbouring villages. The riots had been incited by broadcasts from local mosques and an estimated 20,000 Muslims went on the rampage. Twelve churches and 4,000 homes were completely destroyed in the villages of Khanewal, Shanti Nagar and Tobba.
