The historic first official meeting since the Reformation between a Pope and an Archbishop of Canterbury fifty years ago; and with it the dedication of the Anglican Centre of Rome, is being celebrated with a host of events that will take place throughout the year.

The Church of Ireland and Roman Catholic Archbishops of Dublin joined the Choirs of Christ Church Cathedral and the Girls’ Choir of St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, took part in a united service on the eve of St Patrick’s Day to convey a powerful message of Christian unity. The service, on Wednesday evening this week, united the choirs’ voices united for “a magnificent and historic Festal Choral Evensong.”

The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby is visiting Burundi to show solidarity with local Anglicans and to pray for peace and reconciliation. His visit comes hot on the heels of a solidarity visit by a delegation from the WCC, including Dr Agnes Abuom, the moderator of the WCC Central Committee and a member of the Anglican Church of Kenya.
